The questions we hear most

About the Process
How working with us actually works
The short version: it's free, it's not pushy, and you stay in control at every step.
What does it cost to get a quote?
Nothing. Quotes are always free, and there's no obligation to buy anything. We get paid by the insurance carrier only if you decide to purchase a policy — never by you directly.
How long does the whole process take?
The quote request itself takes about 5 minutes of your time. A licensed agent follows up promptly — typically within one business day — to talk through your situation and begin comparing carriers. How quickly we can put firm, comparable numbers in front of you depends on the product: simpler term cases move fast, while permanent or income products often need carrier illustrations and take longer. If you decide to apply, underwriting typically takes 2–6 weeks depending on the product and whether a medical exam is required. Some "no-exam" policies issue within a few days.
Will you call or text me without permission?
No. We only contact you in the way you authorize on the quote form, and only about your request. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text or emailing optout@fullcareai.com. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Do I have to commit to anything after the quote?
No. Submitting the form, requesting a quote, or having a conversation with us doesn't bind any coverage or create any obligation. Coverage only starts after you formally apply, get approved through underwriting, and pay the first premium.
What if I don't know which product I need?
That's actually the most common situation. On the quote form there's an option called "Not sure — need guidance." Pick that, tell us a little about your situation, and we'll walk you through which products might fit. Then you decide whether to get specific quotes.
Can I do everything by email or text, without phone calls?
Yes. On the quote form you can select your preferred contact method. We can do most of the process by email if you prefer. The carrier's underwriting may require a brief verification call at some point, but that's between you and them.

General questions about how insurance works. For deep dives on specific products, see the products pages.
How much life insurance do I actually need?
A common rule of thumb is 10 to 15 times your annual income, plus any large outstanding debts like a mortgage. So if you earn $80,000 and have a $300,000 mortgage, $1.1M–$1.5M is a reasonable starting point.
The real number depends on what you're trying to cover: kids' future education, lost retirement contributions, final expenses, and how much your partner already earns. A 10-minute needs analysis during your quote conversation will get you a better number than any online calculator.
What's the difference between term and whole life?
Term life covers you for a fixed number of years (typically 10–30) and is the cheapest form of life insurance. If you outlive the term, the policy ends with no payout.
Whole life covers you for your entire life and builds cash value over time. Premiums are 5–10× higher than term for the same death benefit, but the policy never expires.
For most working-age adults with dependents, term is the right starting point. Whole life makes sense for estate planning, lifetime coverage needs, or specific tax situations. More detail on term life →
Will I need a medical exam?
Most life insurance policies still involve a brief medical exam — usually a paramedical visit at your home or office, taking 30 minutes, including a blood draw, urine sample, blood pressure, and basic measurements.
"No-exam" or "accelerated underwriting" policies are increasingly available, especially for healthy applicants under age 50. They cost slightly more but issue in days rather than weeks. We can compare both options for you.
Can I get insurance with a pre-existing condition?
Often yes, depending on the condition, how it's managed, and how long it's been stable. Common conditions like controlled high blood pressure, treated diabetes, or past cancer in remission don't automatically disqualify you — they may just put you in a different rate class.
Carriers vary significantly in how they underwrite specific conditions, which is why working with an independent agent matters: we know which carriers tend to be friendlier for which health situations.
Is the death benefit taxable?
Generally, life insurance death benefits paid to a named beneficiary are received income-tax-free under federal law. Large estates may trigger federal or state estate-tax considerations — for those situations we'd recommend coordinating with a tax advisor and possibly an estate attorney.
What happens if I miss a premium payment?
Most policies include a "grace period" of 30 or 31 days, during which coverage continues and you can pay without penalty. If you don't pay within the grace period, the policy lapses and coverage ends.
Permanent policies (whole or universal life) with built-up cash value may automatically draw from that value to pay premiums for a time. Term policies have no cash value, so they lapse more straightforwardly.
About Privacy & Data
What happens to your information
Insurance involves sharing personal information. Here's exactly what we do with it.
Do you sell my information to other companies?
No. We don't sell your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or anyone else for their independent marketing purposes. Your data is used only to obtain quotes and provide the services you requested. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Who sees my health information?
Only us (the agent) and the specific insurance carriers you authorize to receive your application. Health information is handled in accordance with HIPAA where applicable, and is never used for marketing purposes.
Is the website actually secure?
Yes. All data transmitted through this site is encrypted with 256-bit SSL/TLS. Submissions are stored in encrypted Google Workspace systems with access controls. The site is protected by Cloudflare's DDoS protection and Web Application Firewall.
That said, no system is 100% impervious. If there were ever a data incident affecting your information, we'd notify you as required by Florida law.
Can I have my information deleted?
Yes, with one limitation: Florida insurance regulations require us to retain certain records (quote requests, consent logs, application records) for a minimum of 5 years. So while we can stop using and processing your data, full deletion may not be possible until that retention period passes. Email privacy@fullcareai.com to request access, correction, or deletion.
About FullCareAI
Who we are
Are you a real licensed insurance agent?
Yes. FullCareAI Insurance is operated by a Florida 2-15 Life & Health licensed insurance agent (License # G335891, issued by the Florida Department of Financial Services). You can verify this license at myfloridacfo.com.
What does "independent agent" mean?
An independent agent is appointed with multiple insurance carriers rather than employed by one. This means we can compare quotes across carriers on your behalf and recommend the best option for your specific situation — rather than only selling one company's products.
It also means our compensation doesn't favor one carrier over another. Different carriers pay different commission rates, but our goal is to find what fits you best, not what pays us most.
Which states do you work in?
We're licensed in Florida and can work with applicants in other states subject to non-resident licensing and product availability. If you're outside Florida, let us know your state on the quote form and we'll confirm whether we can serve you directly or refer you to a licensed agent in your area.
What does "AI" have to do with it?
It's our name and reflects how we think about service — using good tools and clear processes to compare options thoroughly and explain them in plain language. Every quote and recommendation you receive is researched, prepared, and delivered by a licensed human agent. There is no automated system making insurance decisions or recommendations about your coverage — a licensed professional does that work and is accountable for it.
How do I file a complaint?
We hope you won't need to, but if you do: first, reach out to us directly at info@fullcareai.com — most concerns can be resolved informally.
If we can't resolve it, Florida residents may file a complaint with the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Consumer Services at 1-877-693-5236 or myfloridacfo.com.
